Taking the original concept from my classroom game, I converted it to a video game! The game is made using the Godot Game Engine, and all assets were made by me. I built the game from the ground up.Â
In particular, I spent a lot of time improving the attachment points so players can easily pick up and snap pieces into place. My work on the attachment points also allowed me to animate the robot to do a silly dance in the final scene by setting key animation frames with different positions and rotations agnostic to the size of the piece.
I want to extend this idea in the future to create more classroom games for kids learning English as a second language.
